Award-winning Cinematographer/DoP for commercials and documentaries based in Cologne (DE) and Brussels (BE).
IN A FEW SECONDS
That’s me: spreading good vibes on set, nerdily organised with my kit, turning up with my own fruity filter coffee, catching 360° BTS shots, and bringing overpriced croissants for the crew. And yes - most of that even at 05:00 a.m.
HERE’S THE DEEP DIVE
I grew up in a tiny German-speaking corner of Belgium that even most Belgians have never heard of - for many, meeting someone from there is practically a bucket-list moment. Maybe that’s why I’ve always felt deeply European and drawn to an industry built on collaboration and people.
After three years of apprenticeship - and uncountable shoots in the years before - I went freelance in 2018. Since then, I’ve shot documentaries and commercials across Europe, the US and Asia. Some highlights include the DISNEY Nine Perfect Strangers EPK with Mark Strong, the international ARTE doc featuring Hans Zimmer, and the GOOGLE campaign with Harry Kane. And to name-drop a few recent clients for the algorithm-sake: EA SPORTS, NIKE, ANDROID, VW and others.
Outside the bigger productions, I do enjoy the smaller, more flexible shoots. After years on the road, I gave up my car and built a setup that lets me work entirely by train: A/B cam, tripod, EasyRig, wireless monitor - the full circus. These days I roll through Europe with my Peli cases strapped to luggage racks, collecting BahnBonus points, free coffees and the occasional confused stare - which also keeps producers happy with their green production goals.
When I’m not sketching floor plans or sharing BTS, you’ll probably find me brewing a fruity V60, still trying to fix my old Pavoni while learning Italian, drumming with my indie band Imperial Tunfisch, or enjoying a Belgian wrap beer.
If you fancy geeking out about any of that - or just grabbing a coffee - reach out.
